The Philadelphia Phillies received disappointing news after Thursday’s 3-0 loss to the Miami Marlins. Slugger Kyle Schwarber injured his right calf and is considered ”day-to-day.”
He’s likely to miss at least the first game of this weekend’s series against the first place New York Mets.
Schwarber left the game after a walk in the bottom of the fifth inning and was visibly frustrated when speaking with interim manager Rob Thomson.
The 29-year old slugger leads the National League with 34 home runs.
The Phillies will update his status prior to the start of Friday’s series.
