Phillies Tender Contracts to Arbitration Eligible Players, Ink Reliever to a Deal

Friday was a busier than usual day for the Philadelphia Phillies.

The Fightin’s —as expected— tendered contracts to all arbitration eligible players by Friday’s non-tender deadline. Six players in total, Rhys Hoskins, Jose Alvarado, Ranger Suarez, Seranthony Domínguez, Edmundo Sosa, and Sam Coonrod, received their tenders.

Coonrod and the Phillies agreed to a one-year, $775,000 deal shortly thereafter.

World Series Game 3: Phillies Blast Astros into Orbit, Win 7-0

The Philadelphia Phillies used the long ball —five of them to be exact— en route to a 7-0 shellacking of the Houston Astros in World Series Game 3. The win gives the Fightin’s a 2-1 series lead and puts them two wins away from a World Championship.

Bryce Harper got the party started for the Phillies in the bottom of the 1st inning depositing a Lance McCullers Jr., pitch deep into the right field seats for a 2-run home run. From there the hit parade was on.

NLDS: Phillies CRUSH Atlanta 9-1 to take a 2-1 Series Lead

The Philadelphia Phillies exploded for 6-runs in the 3rd inning and rode another stellar start by Aaron Nola to a dominant 9-1 victory over the Atlanta Braves in NLDS Game 3. The win gives the Phillies an improbable 2-1 series lead going into Saturday’s NLDS Game 4. 

It was the first MLB postseason game at Citizens Bank Park in 11-years and seven days and the atmosphere didn’t disappoint.  South Philadelphia was a madhouse of red and the Phillies gave them every reason to celebrate.
