Philadelphia Phillies president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski updated Bryce Harper’s elbow injury on Wednesday.
Harper injured his UCL in April and was locked in to the DH position for the remainder of the season.
Harper will meet with renowned orthopedic surgeon Dr. Neal ElAttrache on Monday. All options are reportedly on the table for Harper’s UCL injury. That includes the dreaded Tommy John surgery.

In most cases, TJS for position players is not as time consuming as it is for pitchers. LA’s Shohei Ohtani had TJS in October 2018 and was back in the lineup as a hitter by the first week of May 2017.
It’s likely that Harper will miss at least the first month of the 2023 season if the slugger has surgery.
