Major League Baseball has postponed World Series Game 3 between the Philadelphia Phillies and Houston Astros due to rain in the Philadelphia area. The schedule will shift by a day with Game 3 taking place on Tuesday and so on.
The move allows MLB to avoid a situation similar to 2008 World Series Game 5 (pictured) or more recently NLCS Game 5.
The postponed has also allowed the Phillies to tweak their rotation.
The Phillies will now have Ranger Suarez starting Game 3, Aaron Nola starting Game 4, Noah Syndergaard in Game 5, and Zack Wheeler in Game 6 if necessary.
That sets up well for a team that was otherwise going to have to use their bullpen in one or more games.
