The Atlanta Braves have announced rookie right hander Spencer Strider will start NLDS Game 3 on Friday in Philadelphia. Former Phillies Charlie Morton will follow in Game 4 on Saturday.
The 23-year old Strider hasn’t pitched since September 18 against the Phillies due to an oblique injury. A Rookie of the Year candidate, Strider was 11-5 with a 2.67 ERA this past season.
Strider is 4-0 against the Phillies with a 1.27 ERA.
Morton, who appeared in four games for the Phillies in 2016, is set to start Game 4 for the Braves. The 38-year old is has had a subpar year with 9-6 record and a 4.34 ERA.
