The Philadelphia Phillies have made a series of roster moves official.
As previously reported, the team has placed Seranthony Dominguez on the 10-day injured list and called up RHP Tyler Cyr from Triple-A Lehigh Valley. To make room for Cyr on the 40-man roster, the Phillies have placed RHP Corey Knebel on the 60-day injured list with a torn shoulder capsule.
His season is over.
The Phillies are now down two important pieces of their bullpen. The unit, which was misused and ineffective under former manager Joe Girardi, has been one of the reason for the Phillies postseason push.
The Phillies are 66-54 with a 1/2-game lead over the San Diego Padres for the second NL Wild Card position heading into Sunday.
